C&I Project Case Study
Bifacial Solar + Tracker
Project Owner- Radiance Renewables
Location- Challakere, Karnataka
Bifacial technology is swiftly gaining prominence in the solar market, both in utility and Commercial and Industrial (C&I) segment. Combining bifacial modules with solar tracking mechanism increases the energy gain of the plant. Hence, through this case study of an already operational bifacial solar + single axis solar tracker project, we are analysing in detail the complexities associated with this pairing of solar project technologies.
The bifacial solar + single axis tracker project in consideration is developed by Radiance Renewables and caters to the electricity requirements of a leading IT company located in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Commissioned in April 2023, the project size is 11.5 MW/14.379 MWp. The project is part of a larger solar park being developed by Radiance Renewables at Challakere, Karnataka.
The case study highlights in detail several parameters associated with bifacial + solar tracker projects including, project specifications, equipment used, project cost economics, project performance etc. To understand end consumer benefit, consumption details are also analyzed in detail to estimate annual cost savings as well as CO2 abatement from the project.
