Installation trends
- As of December 31, 2025, about 162.2 GW of utility-scale solar and wind capacity has been commissioned in India, while another 71.5 GW is under pipeline (where auctions are completed).
- As of December 31, 2025, Rajasthan has installed maximum solar and wind capacity of 39 GW followed by Gujarat (33.7 GW) and Tamil Nadu (22.4 GW). Together these top three states accounted for 58.6% of the total solar and wind installations.
- In CY2025, about 28.6 GW of utility scale solar, 6.3 GW of wind, and 7.9 GW of rooftop solar capacity were added in India.
- In CY2025, the top three states with maximum installed solar and wind capacity were Rajasthan (9.5 GW), Gujarat (9.4 GW), and Maharashtra (6.8 GW). Together these top three states accounted for 73.9% of the total solar and wind installations in CY2025.
- For next year i.e. CY2026, approximately 32.5 GW of new utility-scale solar, 8.5 GW of rooftop/onsite solar and 6.5 GW of wind capacity are expected to be commissioned.
Annual Market shares- CY2025
- Modules: Waaree, Goldi and Tata Power were the top three module suppliers in India in CY2025, constituting 32% of all shipments.
- Inverters: Sungrow, TBEA, Sineng and FIMER were the top four inverter suppliers in India in CY2025, constituting 79.2% of all shipments.
- Wind Turbines: Envision, GE and Adani were the top three wind turbine OEMs that have commissioned the maximum wind capacity in India in CY2025.
- DISCOM PPA: NTPC Limited, Adani and SJVN were the top three project developers which have commissioned maximum utility-scale solar and wind projects in India in CY2025.
- Private PPA (Open Access): Cleanmax, Serentica Renewables and AM Green Energy were the top three developers that have commissioned maximum open access capacity in CY2025.
- Utility-Scale EPC Contractors: Sterling & Wilson, Tata Power and Jakson Green were the leading EPC contractors in India in CY2025.
- Rooftop/Onsite model: Tata Power Solar, Roofsol and Mahindra Solarize were the leading players that have setup maximum projects under the rooftop/onsite solar category in CY2025.
