Tenders Issued
- Tenders: June 2026 saw the issuance of 26 RE tenders under EPC and project development segments.
- Project Development: In June 2026, 1300 MW RE with Storage tenders along with 2900 MW/5800 MWh Standalone Storage tenders were issued.
- EPC: Over 2925.6 MW of EPC RE tenders and 1240 MW/4960 MWh Standalone BESS tenders were issued in June 2026.
- MSEDCL floated project development tender for 2000 MW/ 4000 MWh BESS project in Maharashtra.
- NTPC, as a tendering authority dominated the EPC tendering activity during this month with 1140 MW/ 4560 MWh BESS and 1690 MW Solar tendered.
Auction Completed
In June 2026, only one tender was awarded under the project development category. MSEDCL awarded 2500 MW RTC tender to Adani at a tariff of INR 5.90/kWh. During the month, 550 MW of RE tenders were awarded under EPC category for various technologies (50 MW Solar, 250 MW RE with storage, 250 MW Wind).
Installed Capacity
In May 2026, about 2810 MW of solar and 370 MW of wind capacity were added in the country, taking the total renewable energy capacity addition during the month to 3180 MW and the cumulative RE capacity to 282 GW.
State wise utility scale solar and wind installed capacity in May 2026:
In May 2026, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Andhra Pradesh were the top three states for utility-scale solar installations, contributing 1362.36 MW, which accounted for 88.97% of the total 1531.26 MW utility-scale solar capacity added.
Gujarat installed the highest rooftop solar capacity with 341.90 MW, followed by Maharashtra (238.40 MW) and Madhya Pradesh (56.40 MW).
Of the 144.47 MW total capacity installed under the off-grid solar/KUSUM segment, Maharashtra contributed the largest share with 65.86 MW, followed by Karnataka (37.69 MW).
Maharashtra added the highest wind capacity with 166.80 MW, followed by Karnataka (113.00 MW) and Gujarat (68.10 MW).
PM SURYA GHAR Yojana Residential Rooftop installed capacity:
A total of 960.88 MW of residential rooftop solar capacity was installed during the month. Uttar Pradesh led residential rooftop solar installations with 186.79 MW, followed by Gujarat (124.37 MW) and Maharashtra (121.78 MW).
Monthly RE Generation
In June 2026, renewable energy sources generated 33624.63 MUs, reflecting a increase of about 7.2% compared to May 2026.
Monthly RE Curtailment
In June 2026, VRE curtailment decreased significantly by 67.5% on a month-on- month basis, with a total of 278.53 MUs of renewable energy curtailed. During June, 0.82% of the renewable energy generated was curtailed.
Investments/ Deals
In June 2026, a total of about US$ 2187.14 million in investments were made in the RE sector in India.Avaada Group secured US$ 950 million in debt financing for its FDRE project in Rajasthan and two 300 MW solar projects in Rajasthan and Gujarat.
GDAM Traded Volumn
In June 2026, IEX recorded 866 MUs of GDAM traded volume registering a 7.38% decline over May 2026 with traded volume decreasing by 69 MUs. The average market clearing price in IEX-GDAM for June 2026 stood at INR 5.73/kWh registering a 4.37% increase over May 2026.
Module Price Trends
On a month-on-month basis, in the domestic market, Non-DCR TOPCon and Mono PERC module prices remained stable in June. DCR TOPCon module prices recorded a 1.6% month-on-month decrease in June.
Policy and Regulations
In this month, 17 central and 43 state-level policies/ notifications/ regulations/ orders were issued.
