Sales Trends
Overall EV sales increased by 12.62% m-o-m, reaching 3,05,566 units in June 2026, indicating that the fuel crisis and a wide range of product portfolio are driving a shift toward EV adoption. On a year-on-year basis, EV sales registered a 69.73% increase compared to June 2025, reflecting continued momentum in the country’s electric mobility market.
Segment-wise Performance
- Electric Two-Wheelers (E2W): Sales stood at 1,93,495 units,13% m-o-m and 75% y-o-y increase. The top three players accounted for ~63% of total registrations.
- Passenger Electric Three-Wheelers (E3W-P): Sales reached 65,798 units (+9% m-o-m, +27% y-o-y).
- L3: 32,122 units
- L5: 33,676 units
- Cargo Electric Three-Wheelers (E3W-Cargo): Sales stood at 11,645 units (+1.45% m-o-m, +31% y-o-y).
- L3: 7,297 units
- L5: 4,348 units
- Electric Cars (E-Cars): E-cars marked the highest monthly sales with 31,368 units (+7.72% m-o-m, +117% y-o-y). Tata Motors led (~38.34%) led the market, followed by Mahindra (~24.38%). Maruti Suzuki captured ~6% share within six months of entry.
- Electric Buses (E-Bus): E-Buses marked the highest monthly sales with 710 units (122% m-o-m, -34% y-o-y increase)
