In Q2 2025, India made further strides in the green hydrogen sector, underscoring its strong commitment to clean energy and its ambition to emerge as a global leader in sustainable hydrogen production. This quarter saw some key tenders, auction completion, projects commissioned, some key partnerships and central and state level policy measures to strengthen India’s green hydrogen landscape.
- Tenders: In Q2 2025, 2 significant tenders were released by tendering authorities in India, namely NTPC Renewable Energy and Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA).
- Auction Completed: In Q2 2025, IOCL awarded 10 KTPA Green Hydrogen Production Project to L&T Energy Green Tech, at a tariff of INR 397/kg for its Panipat Refinery.
- Projects Commissioned: Adani New Industries commissioned India’s first off-grid green hydrogen production facility in Gujarat with 5 MW capacity.  Â
- Policy and Regulations: In this quarter, one central-level and 2 state level policies were issued by various authorities, namely MNRE, PSERC and AERC.
