    Monthly RE Update June 2025Auctions Completed

    • In June 2025, a total of about 1,570 MW of BESS capacity and 312 MW of renewable energy capacity was allocated to various RE developers.
    • Standalone BESS tenders accounted for 83% of the total allotted capacity, Strong government push in the form of Viability Gap Funding (VGF) and falling battery costs are acting as a catalyst for recent surge in BESS-related auctions.
    • Standalone BESS tariffs touched lows of INR2.08 lakh/MW/month (NHPC, Andhra) and INR2.16 lakh/MW/month (NVVN, Tamil Nadu), while BSPGCL’s Bihar tender stood out with a significantly higher flat rate of INR4.44 lakh/MW/month, reflecting regional cost variations.
    • SECI allotted 300 MW wind tender to Torrent Green at a tariff of INR 3.97/kWh.

    Installed Capacity

    • From January to May 2025, about 12,970 MW of Solar and 3,129 MW of Wind capacity were added in the country, taking the cumulative RE capacity to 226.7 GW.
    • In May 2025, a total of 3,123 MW of solar and wind capacity was added—a 5.9% decline compared to the previous month.

    • In May 2025, Rajasthan added the highest Utility-Scale Solar capacity of about 785 MW, followed by Gujarat (781 MW), and Maharashtra (683 MW).
    • Gujarat installed the highest rooftop solar capacity of  217.4 MW this month, followed by Maharashtra with 136 MW.
    • In terms of off-grid solar capacity, Maharashtra installed the highest capacity with 25.5 MW,
    • Gujarat installed the highest wind installations, with a capacity of about 110 MW, followed by Karnataka, with 98 MW.

    Key announcements that were made during the month were:

    • NTPC Renewable Energy has entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for its 1 GW solar project with UPPCL. The ISTS connected solar PV capacity is part of UPPCL’s 2 GW solar auction. The discovered tariff amounted to INR 2.56/kWh.
    • Waaree Renewable Technologies secured an EPC order worth INR 345 crores for the turnkey execution of a 300 MW AC/ 435 MW DC ground-mounted solar PV project in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The project was awarded by Purvah Green Power and is scheduled for completion in FY26.
    • Waaree Energies has signed a PPA with Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd (RUMSL)  and M.P Power Management Co. Ltd (MPPMCL) for supply of 150 MW solar power. Waaree Forever Energies, a subsidiary of Waaree Energies has also received a LoA from RUMSL for the development of 170 MW solar plant in Madhya Pradesh.
    • ACME Sikar Solar (subsidiary of ACME Solar Holdings) has signed a 25-year PPA with SECI for its 300 MW solar plant at a fixed tariff of INR 3.05/kWh.  The project was awarded under SECI ISTS XVIII tranche, and the tariff was formally adopted by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) on May 30, 2025.
    • SEPC (Shriram EPC) bagged INR 650 crore order to set up 133 MW solar projects in Maharashtra from Parmeshi Urja Ltd. The company will set up solar EPC projects in 26 locations in 4 districts of Maharashtra.
    • Rudra Global is developing 30 MW of renewable capacity in Gujarat, primarily for captive use. In addition to this , a 3.3 MW wind project is underway, with commissioning due by Dec 2025.
    • Purvah Green Power has signed a deal with Envision Energy India for supply, commissioning, and 10-year O&M of 1 GW wind turbine generators. The timeline for supply and commissioning will be finalized in due course.
    • Suzlon has secured its third straight 170 MW wind-project at Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh from AMPIN Energy transition, bringing their total collaboration to 303 MW. The contract covers supply of 54 S144 wind turbines (3.15 MW each) on hybrid lattice towers. The scope of work also includes installation, commissioning and O&M.
    • Reliance New Energy has partnered with Mitarsh Energy for the O&M of its 190 MWp solar assets located across Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Karnataka.
    • Samvardhana Motherson International has signed an agreement with HR Dhauliganga, a special-purpose vehicle (SPV) of Hinduja Renewables Energy, to procure power from a 50 MW captive solar project in Tamil Nadu. As part if the agreement, Samvardhana will acquire a 28.15% equity stake in HR Dhauliganga through an investment of up to INR 141 million.
    • JSW Energy has signed a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with NHPC Ltd for 300 MW solar-wind hybrid capacity located across Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan. The PPA is signed for the supply of power at a tariff of INR 3.49/kWh.  JSW Energy expects to commission the project within the next 24 months.
    • JSW Renew Energy Three, a subsidiary of JSW Energy, has inked a 25-year PPA with Adani Electricity Mumbai for 250 MW of STU-connected wind power at INR 3.65/kWh. The project is expected to be commissioned in the next 24 months.
    • Philippines-based ACEN and Singapore-based UPC Renewables have begun construction of 420 MW solar farm in Barmer, Rajasthan, and a 120 MW wind farm in Karnataka.  Combined, the projects are expected to generate 1,158 GWh of clean electricity annually.  The projects are scheduled for completion by early 2027.
    • Delta Electronics India has signed a 12-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to procure 9.6 million units of wind-generated electricity annually for its facilities in Tamil Nadu. This agreement is facilitated by Ventus Energy Consultancy Private Limited and is expected to help the company reduce its carbon footprint by approx. 6,979 metric tonnes annually.
    • Vedanta Ltd has achieved 1.03 GW of renewable energy round-the-clock capacity through power delivery agreements. The company is planning to achieve 2.5 GW of renewable energy via a mix of wind, solar, and pumped storage technologies.
    • CRI Solar has secured orders for the supply, installation, and commissioning of ~7,000 solar pumping systems across Haryana, Punjab and Maharashtra. These orders have been awarded by the Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA), Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency (HAREDA), and Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA).
    • MAHAGENCO will commission 1,071 MW of solar power projects under the Chief Minister Solar Agriculture Feeder Scheme 2.0. The decentralized solar units, ranging from 0.5 MW to 25 MW will be installed within 5-10 km of agricultural substations.
    • Emmvee secures INR 1,500 crore contract from KPI Green to supply high-efficiency TOPCon bifacial solar modules for a large utility-scale solar project in Gujarat. Modules will be produced at Emmvee’s Dabaspet and Sulibele plants in Karnataka and will be delivered during the latter half of FY26.
    • Lloyds Metals is set to procure 28 MW of wind-solar power from Hexa Climate. As part of the agreement, Lloyds will acquire stake in two separate projects of Hexa Climate for a combined value of INR 220 million.
    • Jakson Green Renewables has bagged order for 1 GWp Operation & Maintenance (O&M) for solar projects. The order comprises 4 high-capacity solar projects, ranging from 75 MWp to 435 MWp located across Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu.
    • Raminfo  has bagged order worth INR 474 crore from Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd. (RRECL) for development and maintenance of 73 MW rooftop solar projects on government buildings in Rajasthan under Hybrid Annuity Model. The scope of the order includes project development and O&M for 25 years of rooftop solar projects.
    • Epigral, Gujarat-based chemicals manufacturer has signed an energy supply agreement with Prozeal to source 19.8 MW power annually from their wind-solar hybrid project in Gujarat.
    • Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals has received a Letter of Award (LoA) for the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of 4,500 off-grid solar pumps in Maharashtra. Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) awarded the contract under component B of PM-KUSUM scheme.

    Monthly RE Generation

    • In June 2025, Renewable energy sources generated 25,995 MUs which is about 12.72% higher than the RE generation in May 2025.
    • In June 2025, wind energy generation increased by 54% compared to the previous month’s generation data whereas solar energy generation decreased by 11.7%.

    In June 2025, a total of about US$ 1,630 Million in investments were made in the RE sector in India. The key investments during the month were:

    • NTPC Ltd has secured a US$750 million ECB (External Commercial Borrowing), arranged by Bank of Baroda and HDFC Bank, featuring a 10-year door-to-door tenor and 7-years average maturity.
    • Indigrid acquired ReNew’s 300 MW SECI-tied solar project (PPA @ INR2.37/unit) and the Koppal-Narendra transmission asset for a combined value of US$245 million, marking a strategic expansion in RE and ISTS infrastructure.

    Other important announcements that were made during the month were:

    • Avaana Capital has received its first drawdown from the Green Climate Fund’s (GCF) US$ 24.5 million commitment to its sustainability fund. Anchored by SIDBI, this funding will support deep-tech startups in renewable energy, agriculture and sustainable supply chains.
    • Edelweiss Fund is seeking to sell its entire 74% stake in 1.2 GW solar energy platform co-owned with Engie India. Edelweiss has hired Standard Chartered to manage the sale.
    • NCLT approved the merger of Inox Wind Energy Ltd (IWEL) into Inox Wind Ltd (IWL), streamlining INOX group’s wind energy business. As a result, IWL’s liabilities will decline by about INR 2,050 crore.
    • Gentari seeks to divest up to  50% stake in its Indian unit, Gentari India. It has a substantial portfolio with 4 GW operational capacity, 4 GW under development and an additional 4 GW in pipeline.
    • Stride Green raised US$3.5 million in the seed round to scale its tech-enabled financing and leasing services across renewable energy, electric mobility, battery storage, and other climate-tech verticals.
    • Waaree Energies Ltd will divest 1.15% stake in solar module manufacturer Indosolar Ltd. The Offer for Sale (OfS) will include 476,495 equity shares at face value of INR 10 each.
    • Vikram Solar aims to raise INR 1,500 crore through an IPO. The company has earmarked the funds from fresh issue for setting up a new integrated solar cell and module facility and expand the existing facility from 3 GW to 6 GW.
    • Coal India and RRVUNL launch a new joint venture company named CIL Rajasthan Akshay Urja Ltd. CIL holds 74% and RRVUNL 26% in the newly incorporated JV. The JV will develop, build and operate renewable assets across Rajasthan.
    • Karamtara Engineering Ltd plans to raise INR 1,750 crore through an IPO.  The company aims to enter the wind energy segment and is setting up a wind turbine manufacturing facility.
    • Jindal Stainless has acquired a 33.64% stake in SPV Oyster Green Hybrid One, developing a 282 MW interstate wind-solar hybrid project in Gujarat and MP. The project will supply power to Jindal Stainless under a 25-year captive PPA.

    The IEX traded a total volume of about 938 MUs in GDAM in June 2025, about 13.8% higher than the previous month.

    The average trade price in IEX-GDAM for June 2025 is INR 4.38/kWh.

    Commissioned

    Involt Energy starts construction of its 1.78 GW n-type TOPCon Solar Cell l Plant in Gujarat

    • The facility is located in Rajkot, Gujarat and marks Involt’s entry into solar cell manufacturing.
    • The fully automated facility with an annual production capacity of 1.78 GW will produce high-efficiency solar cells using n-type TOPCon technology, with plans to begin ramp-up by mid 2026.
    • The company plans significant future expansion, including an additional 3 GW solar cell line and a 3 GW wafer manufacturing facility.

    Satvik Solar commences construction of Integrated Solar Manufacturing Hub in Odisha

    • The facility will have the capacity to manufacture 4.8 GW of solar cells and 4 GW of solar modules in Odisha.
    • The solar cell facility is scheduled to be operational by the end of FY 2027, while the module manufacturing facility is expected to be commissioned by the end of FY 2026.
    • Upon completion, Saatvik’s total manufacturing capacity will stand at 4.8 GW for solar cells and 8.8 GW for solar modules

    Premier Energies commissions 1.2 GW solar cell line

    • Premier Energies has commissioned a new 1.2 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing line at Fab City, Hyderabad.
    • The new line boosts Premier’s soalr cell capacity from 2 GW to 3.2 GW. Furthermore, the company aims to enhance it cell production capacity to 8.4 GW.

    TANFAC commissions India’s first solar-grade DHF plant

    • TANFAC Industries has commissioned a 5,000 TPA (tonnes per annum) solar-grade DHF (Dilute Hydrofluoric Acid) plant.
    • DHF is critical in producing solar PV cells and wafers, used mainly for etching and cleaning.
    • The next phase will raise capacity to 10,000 TPA within three months.

    TP Solar crosses 4 GW module output at Tirunelveli plant

    • TP Solar (a Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd subsidiary) has reached 4,049 MW in total solar module output and 1,411 MW in solar cell production at its Tamil Nadu plant.
    • This Tirunelveli facility is India’s largest single-location solar cell and module manufacturing plant, with a nameplate capacity of 4.3 GW.

    Ahaan Solar to commence 600 MW TOPCon Module Line soon

    • Ahaan Solar, the solar division of Airox Nigen Equipments, will launch a 600 MW phase of its 2 GW TOPCon module plant in Haryana’s 17-acre RE park by mid-2025.
    • The facility will cater to both domestic and global markets and will be co-located with Airox Nigen’s 3 GW Aspire hydrogen electrolyzer plant.

    INA Solar to set up 3 GW solar cell plant in Madhya Pradesh

    • INA Solar has signed an LoI with China-based S.C. Exact Equipment Ltd to establish a 3 GW solar cell manufacturing line in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh.
    • Construction is expected to begin by Q1 FY26, with operations targeted to start by FY27.

    Solarium Green to establish solar module manufacturing facility in Gujarat

    • Solarium Green will set up a 1 GW solar module manufacturing unit in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
    • The facility will be built with a projected CAPEX of INR 70 crore, with funding at a 3:1 debt-to-equity ratio.
    • Commercial operations are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of FY2025–26.

    Citizen Solar & Jinchen Machinery set to collaborate on 2.4 GW TOPCon module project

    • Citizen Solar Pvt Ltd has signed a MoU with Jinchen Machinery for the supply of production equipment for a 2.4 GW TOPCon module line in Kadi, Gujarat.
    • The output will serve both domestic and international markets.

    Sunkind join forces with JA Solar to ramp up 6.4 GW manufacturing capacity

    • Sunkind Energy has signed a technical partnership with JA Solar to support its planned 2.4 GW PV cell and 4 GW module manufacturing facilities, bringing advanced TOPCon cell and module expertise to India.

    Sunkind partners with ConfirmWare for building 4 GW module manufacturing capacity

    • Sunkind India Ltd has inked an MoU with ConfirmWare PV Manufacturing Solutions to deploy 4 GW of high-precision solar module manufacturing capacity across multiple Indian States.
    • The collaboration brings ConfirmWare’s advanced stringer and automation tech to enable production of Sunkind’s first 610 Wp TOPCon M 10 modules- designed for industrial and utility-scale projects.
    • The capacity will be scaled in phases over two years.

    Green Hydrogen

    SECI invites bids for supply of 7,24,000 MT Green Ammonia under SIGHT program

    • The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has invited bids for supply of 7,24,000 MT of green ammonia annually to 13 fertilizer plants under Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) program, mode- 2A- Tranche-I).
    • The green ammonia producer must establish production facility to supply green ammonia to SECI. The producers can meet up to 10% of committed annual capacity through third party or other sources.
    • The bidders must submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of INR 5,000/ MT and must submit performance bank guarantee of INR 7,500/MT. The last date to submit the bids is 30 June 2025.

    Toyota Kirloskar partners with Ohmium to pilot green hydrogen microgrid

    • Toyota Kirloskar Motor and Ohmium International have agreed to jointly develop green hydrogen-based microgrid power solutions in India, targeting remote sites like data centers and off-grid zones.
    • Toyota will supply fuel cell modules and systems-integration expertise, while Ohmium will deploy its modular PEM electrolysers, and lead prototype development and performance evaluation.
    • The collaboration will include feasibility studies, prototype development, and real-world testing.

    Indian Oil to establish India’s largest Green Hydrogen generation plant at its Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex

    • Slated for commissioning by December 2027, the facility will produce 10,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually.
    • This will replace the fossil-fuel based hydrogen (Grey Hydrogen) currently being used in the refinery operations.
    • IOCL tender has been awarded to L&T Energy Tech, for which the green hydrogen will be supplied at INR 397/kg,.

    ACME to set up 400,000 tonnes Green Ammonia plant at TATA SEZ in Odisha

    • The company has signed an agreement with a Japanese corporation to supply the entire 400,000-tonne annual output from the facility beginning in 2029.

    Hygenco to establish Green Ammonia plant in Odisha

    • Hygenco has commenced construction of a 1.1 Mtpa green ammonia facility at Odisha’s Gopalpur port hub, launching operations in three phases- 220 ktpa in 2028, another 220 ktpa in 2029, and expansion to a full 730 ktpa capacity by 2030.
    • The plant is one of India’s first to secure EU RED III (RFNBO) pre-certification by Bureau Veritas.

    AM Green and Port of Rotterdam Authority inks MoU to build green energy supply chain

    • AM Green and Port of Rotterdam Authority have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop green energy supply chain connecting India to Northwestern Europe through Rotterdam.
    • This will facilitate the transportation of hydrogen-fuels, including bunkering fuels and Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAFs).
    • The supply chain could support export of up to 1 million tons of hydrogen-based fuels annually, enabling green fuel trade worth US US$ 1 billion between India and Europe.

    Adani commissions India’s first off-grid hydrogen pilot plant

    • The pilot plant has a capacity of 5 MW and is located in Kutch, Gujarat.
    • The plant has been built by Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL).

    India’s breakthrough in green hydrogen production using only solar energy

    • Researchers at Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences (CeNS), Bengaluru have created a silicone-based photoanode that splits water using only sunlight, without any use of fossil fuels or rare materials.
    • The device utilises an n-i-p heterojunction architecture; n-type TiO2, intrinsic silicon & p-type NiO

    GST Fitment Committee proposes reduction of GST on Green Hydrogen from 18% to 5%

    • The GST Council’s Fitment Committee has proposed reducing the current 18% GST on green hydrogen, electrolysers, and storage batteries to just 5%.
    • The recommendation will be placed before the GST council in July for final approval.
    • This move is expected to strengthen India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission goals and catalyse investments in hydrogen-intensive sectors like fertilisers, steel and refining.

    Greenzo secures INR 320 crore order for 20 MW green hydrogen project

    • Greenzo Energy India has secured an INR 320 crore from Oswal Energies to supply electrolysers and balance of plant
    • Greenzo will manufacture and deliver its indigenously developed electrolysers and integrated BoP systems; while Oswal Industries will lead the EPC aspects of the project.

    Storage

    L&T wins civil works for 1.5 GW pumped storage project in Maharashtra

    • L&T has secured a contract  from JSW energy to execute civil works for 1.5 GW Bhavali Pumped Storage Project in Maharashtra.
    • The scope of work includes all civil works related to the project, including construction of approach roads, upper and lower reservoirs, water conductor system, pressure tunnels, and the underground powerhouse units.

    JBM Green secures 3 GWh in BESS orders

    • JBM Green Energy Systems, the battery vertical of JBM Auto, has achieved a robust orderbook of 3GWh for battery energy storage systems.
    • The BESS capacity, to be deployed pan India, include recent award of 1 GWh by SJVN.
    • JGBM operates India’s largest high-voltage lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility in the Delhi-NCR region, with an annual installed capacity of 6 GWh.

    ANDRITZ bags Adani Green Energy’s 1500 MW pumped storage project

    • ANDRITZ has secured the EPC order for AGEL’s 1500 MW Tarali PSP in Satara, Maharashtra.
    • Scope includes design, manufacture, testing, and commissioning of pumped storage units and auxiliary systems.
    • All components will be manufactured locally in India.

    Volks Energie wins BPCL Solar + Li-ion BESS order for IrugurDevangonthi pipeline

    • Volks Energie will deploy off-grid solar PV with Li-ion battery and charger systems on BPCL’s Irugur–Devangonthi (KA) pipeline.
    • The system provides power backup for control stations and SCADA, cathodic protection, and remote equipment needs.

    NTPC aims to commission 3-5 GW PSP capacity by FY2031-32

    • NTPC is working on 20 GW pumped storage capacity across India.
    • It targets 3–5 GW commissioning by FY2031–32.
    • Feasibility reports for 18 projects are done; 4 are in advanced stages.

    Envision Energy partners with SUN TERRA for ESS expansion

    • Envision Energy collaborates with SUN Terra to develop energy storage technologies and solutions across Southeast  Asia, India and Australia.
    • Under the agreement, the two companies will deploy energy storage solutions, improve global supply chains and encourage domestic manufacturing.

    Assam cabinet approves INR 5,400 crore pumped storage project

    • Assam has allotted a 900 MW of off0stream pumped storage project to Hinduja Renewables in West Karbi Anglong.
    • The project is a key step towards Assam’s target of 2 GW of pumped storage capacity by 2030.
    • The project has received funding of INR 5,400 crores and will contribute towards Assam’s target of achieving 2 GW PSP by 2030.

    THDC to supply 184 MW clean power to Gujarat.

    • THDC India has signed an agreement with the Gujarat government to supply 184.08 MW clean energy from its pumped storage plant (PSP) in Uttarakhand.
    • The agreement is aimed at supporting Gujarat’s peak-hour demand. THDC India Ltd, has constructed a 1,000 MW (250 MW x 4 units) PSP at Tehri in Uttarakhand; the first unit began commercial operations earlier this month.

    MSEDCL eyes INR 20,000 Crore battery storage for 16 GW of solar capacity

    • The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) plans to set up BESS capacity for 16 GW solar projects being developed under Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini scheme. The company is planning an investment of INR 20,000 crore to set up the unit.
    • To make the project financially viable, MSEDCL has sought viability gap funding (VGF) from the central govt.
    • A 750MW/1,500 MWh BESS project is underway, costing INR 1.25 crore/MW, with central subsidy of INR 27 lakhs/MWh approved for 500 MWh so far

    Sineng Electric and Impulse Green inks 1 GW distribution agreement

    • Sineng Electric and Impulse Green Energy have signed a 1 GW distribution agreement, with Impulse becoming the pan India distributor of Sineng’s full range of high-performance string inverters.
    • Sineng’s advanced inverter technology will be combined with Impulse’s strong market presence and distribution capabilities to deliver efficient energy solutions for commercial, industrial and utility scale applications.

    ReNew’s Q4 net profit surges by 415% to reach INR 314 crore

    • ReNew Energy Global reported consolidated Q4 (FY25) net profit of INR 313.7 crore, a 415% increase from INR 60.9 crore in Q4 FY24, driven by strong revenue and manufacturing gains
    • Q4 total income climbed to INR 3,439.1 crore from INR 2,477 crore, supported by INR 991.5 crore from module and cell manufacturing sales alongside INR 1,829 crore from power sales.
    • Its cumulative renewable capacity reached 18.5 GW with commissioned capacity at 11.2 GW, with rest under development.

    Maxvolt Energy to build Lithium battery recycling plant in Ghaziabad

    • Maxvolt is acquiring 22,000 m² of land near its Ghaziabad battery manufacturing unit to develop a state-of-the-art recycling and repurposing facility.

    Power Grid Corporation of India announces acquisition of MEL Power Transmission

    • Power Grid announces the acquisition of MEL Power Transmission, special purpose vehicle (SPV) from PFC Consulting in a deal worth INR 558 crore.
    • The SPV will establish 400kV D/c transmission system for evacuation of power from Mahan Energen’s generation station in Madhya Pradesh on a BOOT (build own operate transfer) basis.

    Delhi to install over 10,000 solar panels along Najafgarh Drain

    • The Delhi government plans to install over 10,000 solar panels along a 6 km stretch of Najafgarh drain to generate 5 MW of clean energy.
    • The project will be jointly executed by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and BRPL (BSES Rajdhani Power Limited).
    • This paves the way for a larger roll-out along the entire 57 km drain, with a projected power generation capacity of 30 MW.

    Global investment in Carbon capture and storage (CCS) to reach US$80 billion by 2030

    • According to DNV’s Energy Transition Outlook: CCS to 2050, carbon capture and storage (CCS) capacity is expected to quadruple by 2030.
    • CCS capacity is forecast to grow from 41 million tonnes of CO₂ (MtCO2 /yr) at present to 1,300 MtCO2 /yr in 2050.
