EV Sales Digest – February 2026
Summary
- E2W: In February 2026, India’s high-speed electric two-wheeler (HS E2W) sales recorded a m-o-m decline of 9%, reaching 1,11,680 units, and a 47% y-o-y increase compared to February 2025. During the month, the top three players dominated the market, together accounting for around 69% of total E2W registrations.
- E3W- Passenger: In February 2026, passenger E3W registrations reached 55,934 units, marking a ~14% m-o-m decline but a 26% y-o-y growth over February 2025. The L3 segment contributed 34,831 units, with the L5 segment recording 21,103 units. Bajaj Auto led the L5 segment with a 38.38% share, while Zenaik Innovations topped the L3 segment with 4.02%.
- E3W-Cargo: In February 2026, registered sales of cargo electric three-wheelers (E3Ws) reached 10,464 units, recording a ~3% month-on-month decrease and a 18% year-on-year increase compared to February 2025. Of the total, L3 models accounted for 7,268 units, while L5 contributed 3,196 units. In the L5 cargo segment, Mahindra led with ~18% market share, whereas in the L3 segment, J. S. Auto topped with ~7% share.
- E-Cars: In February 2026, E-car sales reached 13,683 units, marking 24% m-o-m decline and 54% y-o-y growth compared to February 2025. Tata Motors led the market with ~41% share, followed by MG Motor at ~24%. Among non-Indian automakers, Vinfast and BYD attain the top 5 spot.
- E-Buses: In February 2026, E-bus sales stood at 578 units, marking a 48% m-o-m and 88% y-o-y increase compared to February 2025. Switch Mobility led the market with ~48% market share, followed by JBM Auto at ~26%.
